Four lakh citizens at risk of being affected in third wave

Aurangabad, July 21:

The third wave of coronavirus is expected to arrive by the end of August. Corona and vaccination have produced antibodies in 8 lakh citizens. However, the third wave is likely to affect 4 lakh citizens. There are also fears that the number of patients will increase from the end of August.

The 4th national SERO survey was conducted in 70 districts in 21 states of the country. According to the survey, about 40 crore people in the country are at risk of being infected with the third wave of corona. Municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey had warned about this a month ago. He estimated that at least 5 lakh people would be affected in the city. Now this figure has come down to 4 lakhs from the SERO survey. According to Pandey, the second wave has receded from the city. About 1.4 lakh citizens were affected in this wave. The third wave is expected to be severe, experts say. According to the 2011 census, the city has a population of about 12 lakh. It has increased by about 3 to 5 lakhs in ten years and the population is assumed to be 17 lakhs. So far 5.27 lakh citizens have been vaccinated. There are about 2.5 lakh citizens who have produced antibodies after being cured from corona. As a result, about eight lakh people with antibodies are less likely to develop corona infection. Although living in cities, there are about one to one and a half lakh people who have been vaccinated in rural areas. As a result, the remaining four lakh citizens are at risk of being infected in the third wave.
