Gang involved in black marketing Remdesivir injections busted; seized five injections

Aurangabad, April 27:

The crime branch police have arrested seven accused of a gang, for black marketing Remdesivir injection in the city, by bringing it from Jalna Covid Care Centre. The police have seized a stock of five Remdesivir injections, six mobiles, and one car, all valuing around Rs 5.64 lakh.

The names of accused are Dinesh Kanhu Navgire (28, Jaibhimnagar, Ghati road), Sainath Anna Wahul (32, Ramnagar), Ravi Rohidas Dongre (Bhagyanagar) along with Sandeep Sukhdev Ragade (32), Pravin Shivnath Borde (27), Narendra Murlidhar Sable (33) and Afroz Khan Iqbal Khan (all residents of Badnapur in Jalna district).

Acting on a tip-off, under the guidance of seniors and the police inspector Avinash Aghav, the crime branch police comprising API Manoj Shinde, Ajab Singh Jarwal, FDA's drug inspector Rajgopal Bajaj, head constables Santosh Sonawane, Chandrakant Gaoli, Shivaji Jhine, Rajendra Salunke, and Vishal Patil laid a trap on GMCH campus.

Patil, who represented as a customer, contacted the prime accused Dinesh Navgire on his phone for injection. As per the conversation, Patil deposited Rs 20,000 in the account of Dinesh through PhonePe. Later on, Dinesh called Patil to deliver the injection at the auto stand near the hostel of resident doctors on the GMCH campus. When he was handing over the injection, the crime branch sleuths caught him red-handed. During the investigation, Dinesh confessed that he had obtained the injection with the help of his friends and staff working in Jalna's CCC. He told that he had brought to sell them at high rates in the city.

The cops arrested all his accomplices and seized the injections as well as above mentioned materials from their possession. On the basis of FDA inspector Bajaj's complaint, Begumpura police have registered cases against all of them.
