Good response to blood donation camp in university

Aurangabad, July 16:

The Editor-in-Chief of Lokmat Group of Newspapers Rajendra Darda underlined that the target of blood collection was 21,000 units till Sunday, but the collection tolled 41,000 units under the blood donation drive - Lokmat Raktacha Nata. Hence, I am hopeful of collecting 51,000 units of blood by next Sunday, he stressed.

The blood donation camp was organised, by Vidyapeeth Karmachari Sanghatna on completion of two years of Dr Pramod Yeole as the vice-chancellor of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu), under Lokmat Raktacha Nata, today. A total of 91 units of blood was collected at the camp. MLC Satish Chavan inaugurated the blood donation camp, while Dr Yeole presided over.

Darda and Chavan congratulated Yeole on his successful completion of two years term.

" The surgeries which were pending due to pandemic situation has now been started. Hence considering the requirement of blood, Lokmat has started the blood donation drive from July 2. The people of Maharashtra, keeping aside the differences, are coming forward, to make Lokmat Raktacha Nata successful," said Rajendra Darda.

Dr Yeole underlined his decades-long relations with the Lokmat and how it had progressed in terms of quality and quantity. " The university despite having all facilities, competent faculties, and talented students were lagging behind. However, in the last two years, the university has carved a niche in the educational sector. We will continue to maintain it with the co-operation of all," he assured.

MLC Chavan, management council member Kishore Shitole also expressed their views. Pro-vice chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsaat, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryawanshi were on the dais. The state vice president of Vidyapeeth Karmachari Mahasangh Dr Kailas Pathrikar, president Parwat Kasure, Prakash Akade, and other officers and personnel were present on the occasion. MGM Blood Collection Centre's Dr Saumya Mishrikotkar, Dr Nidhi Kandi, Gautam Korrane, and others

took efforts to collect the blood. Sanjay Shinde conducted the proceedings.
