Government should impart self-defense training to Dalit girls

In the backdrop of the gang-rape and murder of a Dalit girl in Hatras in Uttar Pradesh, the Republican Party of India (RPI) (D) staged demonstrations at Kranti Chowk on Sunday. The agitators demanded that the state government of Uttar Pradesh should be suspended immediately and the state and union government should arrange to impart self-defense training to the Dalit girls. ZP member Ramesh Gaikwad led the demonstrations. The UP government was condemned for shielding the culprits in this matter. The girl from Hathras should get justice like Nirbhaya and the accused should be charged with atrocity sections and should be hanged, the agitators demanded.
