Government should not advise Maratha youths to go to court

Aurangabad, Oct 13:

The government should not advise the students involved in the recruitment and various course admission process to go to court after the interim stay of Maratha reservation, appealed Vinod Patil, petitioner of Maratha reservation.

Patil told reporters on Tuesday that while granting a temporary stay on the Maratha reservation, the court had made it clear that it would not make any changes in the recruitment process and admission process conducted till date.

The decision was made a month ago. However, the government has not yet given appointments to students from the Maratha community. When a student delegation goes to meet the state government, they are advised to go to the Supreme Court and bring an explanation of the order.

If the government thinks that giving appointments to candidates would be a contempt of court, then the government itself should take clarification of orders. Otherwise, the case will go to a three-judge bench and the reservation case will escalate further.

If the students apply to the Supreme Court for clarification of orders, the case will again go to the three-judge bench. However, as the original petition is pending before a five-judge bench, the Maratha community will again have to wait for years for justice. He said that the government has requested the state government to give appointments to the candidates without advising them to go to court.
