Govt should not create any hurdle in development works: Raosaheb Danve

Aurangabad, Feb 14:

“The Centre has allocated largest amount of fund in the budget to the State Government which should use it for the intended development projects without any obstacle,” said Raosaheb Danve, union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Raosaheb Danve said the State Government had not completed the metro project though the centre had sanctioned it.

“If the State Government complete sanctioned projects without any delay, it will get more fund in the coming days from the Central Government. Both the Governments should work with coordination,” he asserted.

On the point of opposition’s criticism over no benefit to Marathwada in the budget, Danve said that the region would surely benefit from the budget.

“Pune, Nagpur, Mumbai and Nashik are big cities. More financial provision was made for their metro projects. A total of Rs 350 crore were spent on the dry port of Jalna. A boundary wall on 500 acres of land was constructed. The process of expanding railway tracks up to dry port is underway. The issue of land acquisition at two places would be resolved soon,” he said. When he was asked about imposing cess on fuel in the budget, he replied that tax is levied to generate fund for development.

“Fuel prices have not increased because of the budget. Some decisions need to be taken for providing basic infrastructure. Fuel prices are linked to the international market. So, prices increase as per the development in the market. Fuel prices will come down if the State Government reduces cess,” he said.

The union Minister of State said that truth should come to light in Pooja Chavan suicide case.

“It's not good to shelter anyone. The Government should clear its stand and reveal the truth. Action should be taken against those who are guilty,” he said.

He informed reporters that his party is keeping an eye on Supreme Court decision about Aurangabad Municipal Corporation election. “We will go for AMC elections if anyone comes with us or not,” he added. MP Dr Bhagwat Karad, MLAs Atul Save and Sambhaji Nilangekar, BJP city unit president Sanjay Kenekar, Sameer Rajurkar and others were present.
