Guardian minister dedicates AMC's maiden fuel pump today

Aurangabad, June 28:

The guardian minister Subhash Desai has inaugurated and dedicated the maiden fuel pump, of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), situated near the old Octroi Checkpost to the public, today. The AMC officials hope of doing a crore or more business per annum.

It may be noted that the AMC administrator A K Pandey decided to utilise the AMC's prime located land to set up the fuel pump. His initiative intended to generate revenue sources for the cash-strapped civic body. Pandey joined as the municipal commissioner in December 2019 and was given additional responsibility as an administrator by the state government in April 2020. Since then, he is leaving no stone unturned to improve the financial condition of the AMC.

The AMC will deploy its own staff to operate and maintain the pump. It may be noted that the AMC buys fuel worth Rs 48 lakh per month for its official vehicles. Now, the pump will fill the fuel in all AMC vehicles, apart from the Smart City Buses and the vehicles used by the Solidwaste Management (SWM) contractor Gopinath Reddy. It is hoped that there will be a saving of Rs 1.5 lakh per month, while the income through selling fuel will be at least Rs 1 crore, said the AMC sources.
