Guest lecture at GMC geriatrics department

Aurangabad, April 28: A guest lecture on awareness about tackling security issues among resident doctors and other staff and prevention of thefts and assault on doctors was held in the department of geriatrics, Government Medical College, Aurangabad today.

Patrolling squad incharge, Begumpura police station V V Jadhav guided the session attended by Professor Dr Mangala Borkar, Associate Professor Dr Shailaja V Rao and residents of geriatrics department. This was a confidence building exercise for all doctors who are constantly under the risk of public violence. Jadhav emphasized the decline in rate of crimes in GMCH Aurangabad due to daily patrolling by the police and counselling of the doctors and medical staff for prevention of crimes such as theft of vehicles and mobiles. The squad has been formed under the guidance of Dr Nikhil Gupta, commissioner of Police and works under police inspector of Begumpura police station Sachin Sanap. The squad has taken measures like improving the illumination around the MBBS girls and nurses hostels.
