Aurangabad, April 15:

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI, New Delhi) has decided to close down its all centrally protected monuments, sites and museums, due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the country today.

The order duly signed by the Director (Monuments) N K Pathak stated that the monuments have to be closed with immediate effect from April 15 to May 15, 2021, or until further orders.

It may be noted that the heritage sites and monuments in the jurisdiction of Aurangabad district are already closed for visitors from March 11 till April 30 on the orders of the district administration. Meanwhile, today's decision is taken by the ASI directorate as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of visitors and staff (of circles where heritage places are open) and the staff where the monuments are closed for the visitors. The ASI headquarter has alerted all the circles in this regard.
