High Court grants 10-days transit anticipatory bail to Shantanu Muluk of Beed

Aurangabad, Feb 16:

The local bench of Bombay High Court (HC) led by Justice V V Kankanwadi, has granted a transit anticipatory bail for ten days to an engineer and environment activist Shantanu Muluk, today. The High Court granted bail to him in connection with the FIR registered by the Delhi Police related to “toolkit” which was circulated on social media relating to farmers protest.

Muluk is a native of Beed. Hence, he pleaded before the bench to grant bail as the Delhi Police had stationed itself at his home town (Beed) for the past three days and seized several materials without following due process of law. Besides, a non-bailable warrant against him had also issued on Monday.

As reported earlier, Delhi police had booked Muluk and two other environment activists Disha Ravi and Nikita Jacob for preparing a toolkit and inciting non-violence. The police booked them under Section 124 and 153 (A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Muluk also stated in his plea, stated that he and his colleagues are innocent and had bonafide intentions with regard to the farmer's protests.
