Holi celebrated in a simple manner

Every year, the Holi festival is celebrated in the presence of dignitaries in front of the village deity Sansthan Ganpati in the city. But this year, the event was cancelled due to coronavirus. A small holi was lit by Amol Joshi Guruji to keep the tradition intact.

The crowded areas like Raj Bazaar and Gulmandi wore a deserted look today. Every year, the Holi is lit in the presence of public representatives, district collector, police commissioner, municipal commissioner and hundreds of citizens in front of Sansthan Ganpati. But this year the event was cancelled. Other public Holi gatherings were organized in some parts of the city but the presence of citizens there was meagre. Many citizens lit small Holi in front of their house along with family members. Some worshipped Holi in the afternoon and some in the evening. The citizens prayed that corona must go away forever.
