Industrial associations propose mass vaccination drive

Aurangabad, April 3:

The growing crisis of Covid-19 in the district is a matter of concern and the role of industry is to ensure that human life and livelihood should be safe. For this, the industrial associations have proposed mass vaccination in the industries to the district administration three days ago. However, no concrete decision has been announced yet.

In this regard, CMIA president Kamleish Dhoot said, "We had sent a proposal to the administration showing our willingness to provide space for vaccination in industries and arrange for all facilities including transport. The administration is ready to cooperate on the proposal. But the administration will also have to look at the health facilities and the availability of vaccines. Therefore, they should not have informed about the decision yet. Necessary measures are being implemented in industries to prevent corona. Strict adherence to temperature and oxygen level check, hand sanitizer, social distancing is being followed before entering the company. This is being reviewed on a weekly basis by industrial associations. Everyone working in the industry is now aware of all preventive measures. There is also awareness about vaccination. This will not only protect the industry but also the health of the city, hence we have sent a proposal to the administration for group vaccination in industries.

Dhoot said that at present, the second wave of Covid-19 seemed to be intense. Vaccination can reduce it within two months. When asked what the role of the industries if they had to pay for vaccination, he said that the industries conducted corona tests through a private lab. If the administration comes up with such a proposal, big industries will pay for it.
