International Seminar on IoT, sensor devices , big data held

Aurangabad, Jan 5:

One-day International e-seminar was jointly organised by the Department of Computer Science and Department of Physics of Sir Sayyed College recently. In the very beginning, tributes were paid to the founder of Sir Sayyed College, Prof. Mohd. Tilawat Ali.

Dr Shamama Parveen, president of the education society, inaugurated the seminar.

College principal Dr Shaikh Kabeer Ahmed made introductory speech. Dr A R Khan, head of Department of Computer Science, in his key-note address, proved with the help of examples that Internet of things (IoT) technology plays an important role not only in communications and computer science but also in physics due to the rapid spread of usage of sensor devices. He insisted on the better understanding and use of IoT technology.

Prof Jack Kihiko from Kenya, Dr Mohammed Aref, Dr Murtuza Junaid Farooque both from Oman and Fahad Abdullah from Saudi Arabia delivered their informative talks on IoT, Sensor devices and Big Data respectively.

Dr Gulam Rabbani, the director of Dr Rafique Zakaria Center for Higher Learning and Advanced Research in his speech in the valedictory session, stressed that the IoT and Cloud Computing are considered two of the greatest technology revolutions. The faculty hosted different interactive sessions. Vice-Principal Dr Shaikh Mohammed Azhar conducted proceedings of the event. Convener Binnaser Aziz Abdullah proposed a vote of thanks.

Co-Convener Dr Shaikh Asif Karim, Dr Syed Mujeeb, Momin Zaki, Haroon Rashid supported the event. Nearly 500 participants from different states of India and abroad, attended the e-seminar. The researchers presented their papers.
