Jalshri witness arrival of first CM in last four decades

Aurangabad, Feb 5:

Jalshri-the official residence of the municipal commissioner of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) near Delhi Gate, today witnessed the chief minister's arrival in the history of last four decades. A few weeks ago, the minister of environment Aditya Thackeray had visited the civic chief's official residence.

Jalshri is presently the official residence of the municipal commissioner A K Pandey and the superintendent of police (SP) Mokshada Patil.

The chief minister, after his arrival in the city at 12 noon, straightway proceeded to inspect the site proposed for the construction of water storage reservoir (built as a part of the new water supply scheme of Rs 1680 crore) near the AMC employees' quarters at Delhi Gate. The chief minister was having throat infection, therefore, he was having trouble in speaking. Hence he avoided addressing the media persons also. The CM completed the inspection of water storage in five minutes and stepped into Jalshri to meet the municipal commissioner and his family. He spent 10 minutes and then left for the review meeting at the district collectorate. Meanwhile, eyebrows of many have been raised after the CM's visit to Jalshri.

Pandey said that it was a personal visit. According to sources, the CM interacted with 7-year-old Devman Pandey (son of the civic chief) at Jalshri.

History in AMC

The AMC was established in 1982. So far, the civic body had witnessed the rule of more than 40 administrators and municipal commissioners, but no chief minister had visited Jalshri. Hence, the visit had become history. As reported earlier, Aditya Thackeray had visited Jalshri, while he was in the city to dedicate the garbage processing plants to the public, on January 16.
