Local BJP leaders turn a blind eye towards Nadda's suggestion

Aurangabad, April 27:

Accusing the government of failing to address the corona situation in Marathwada, BJP national president JP Nadda had last week instructed all MPs to start a covid care centre with ventilator and oxygen facilities in the region. However, an internal meeting of the BJP decided that it was not possible to set up the infrastructure immediately. Considering the huge responsibility of setting up the covid hospital or care centre with all the facilities, with manpower, the decision was put on hold.

In Marathwada, the number of corona patients is increasing rapidly and the death rate is also increasing. Against this backdrop, Nadda and union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan in an online meeting held two days ago had instructed the BJP MPs of Marathwada to set up three covid care centres with 50 or 100-bed ventilators and oxygen facilities in each district and treat corona patients at nominal rates. MP Dr Bhagwat Karad has been given the responsibility as the head of Marathwada. That meeting was attended by all the MPs in the department. The plan was to reach out to the public through the corona helpline over the next few months. Suggestions have been made at the central level that all the activists should work with the BJP divisional board to supply oxygen, food grains, injections and medicines. But at present, it is difficult to get the required number of doctors and other manpower for covid hospital. It has also come to light that there is no consensus among the local BJP leaders on who should take charge of the centre. The BJP has one MP and three MLAs in the district.
