Mahavir Jayanti celebrated with simplicity

Aurangabad, April 25:

Following the preachings of Lord Mahavir of ‘Jio aur Jine Do’, the entire Jain community celebrated the Lord Mahavir Jayanti at home with their families on Sunday in an enthusiastic, but simple manner. The community, which has always been at the forefront of social work, set an example by donating food and organising blood and vaccination camps on the occasion. Religious and cultural competitions were held through digital media.

On behalf of Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav Samiti under Sakal Jain Samaj, the flag was hoisted by the president of the society Rajendra Darda at Bhagwan Mahavir Chowk at 7 am. Slogans of ‘Bhagwan Mahavir Ki Jai, Bhagwan Mahavir Ka Kya Sandesh, Jio Aur Jine Do’ were also chanted. Working president Subhash Zambad, general secretary Mahavir Patni, Prashant Desarda, president of the festival committee Anil Sancheti, working president Nilesh Savalkar, Rajesh Mutha, Nilesh Pahade, Rajendra Pagariya, Prateek Sahuji, Meena Papadiwal, Bharti Bagrecha, Dimple Pagaria and Sangeet Sancheti of the women's committee were present. Flag hoisting was also done at Uttamchand Thole Jain Hostel and Guru Ganeshnagar. The community members also hoisted the flag on their house.

Stunning decoration of Mahavir pillar

The Mahavira pillar under the Bhagwan Mahavir flyover was attractively decorated on the occasion of Lord Mahavir Janmakalyanak Mahotsav. The multi-coloured centrepiece and electric lighting on all four sides became the centre of attraction. The message of Lord Mahavir was being conveyed to the masses through various placards erected on all four sides. The concept of the decoration was conceived by the festival committee and Labdhi Group. Swati Malara, Jayshree Gujrani, Runju Jain, Shaila Sankalecha and Rupali Sakla took efforts.

Worship in various Jain temples

Following the 'Break the Chain', the Jain temples in various parts of the city were closed to devotees. However, Puja and aarti were performed at Khandelwal Digambar Jain Panchayat Parshwanath Temple at Rajabazar, Vimalnath Jain Temple at Jadhavmandi, Shantinath Agrawal Digambar Jain Temple at Sarafa Road, Godiji Parshwanath Shwetambar Jain Temple at Johariwada, Kalikund Parshwanath Saitwal Digambar Jain Temple at Hudco and Adinath Digambar Jain Temple at Arihantnagar.

Blood donation camps on the occasion

In all, 61 donors donated blood in the camp organized on the occasion of Lord Mahavir Janmakalyanak Mahotsav and the birthday of the working president of Sakal Jain Samaj Subhash Zambad. For the first time, 35 members of the Junior Cidco Royal Group donated blood. The camp was organized by Shrawak Sangh Cidco, Cidco Royal Jain Group and Shree Shanti Group. Ratilal Mugdiya, Ravi Mugdiya, Mahendra Bamb of Shanti Group, Raju Sancheti, Mukesh Gogle, Ajit Jain, Manoj Bora, Gaurav Mugadia of Junior group, Siddhant Mugdiya and Rahul Chandaliya took efforts. Thirty-five donors donated blood in the camp organized at Chandraprabhu Digambar Jain Temple in Vishnunagar. The camp was organized by the president of the temple Sudhakar Kshirsagar, Bahubali Vaikos, Jayakumar Vaikos, Sandeep Gosavi and others. Blood donation camp was conducted at Mahavir Diagnostic at Ulkanagari on behalf of Mahavir International, Vardhman Residency Parivar, Shri Vardhman Stanakwasi Dakshin Madhya Sangh. Rohit Chhajed, Kalpesh Gandhi, Umesh Devda, Vinod Kunkulol and others worked hard.

Food donation to Covid warriors and patients

Food was donated to corona warriors, patients, their relatives and the needy. Also, on behalf of the Jain community, permanent food donation projects are underway throughout the year. Food is being donated to the police on bandobast through the festival committee. The project was implemented in collaboration with Guru Parivar's Subhadradevi Sancheti, Sachin Sancheti and Mugadia Parivar. The Jain Alert group is also donating food to the relatives of the patients at GMCH through Mahavir Kitchen.
