Man duped of Rs 1.10 crores in pretext of giving Jio dealership

Aurangabad, Jan 7:

A man was duped of Rs 1.10 crores in the pretext of giving Reliance Jio company’s dealership. The economic offence cell on Thursday night arrested four suspects in this regard and have been remanded in the police custody till January 12. The police opined that there is a possibility that seven more persons have been duped in the similar manner in the city.

The arrested have been identified as Shaikh Irshad Shaikh Farooq (Saeeda Colony), Mohsin Khan Gulab Khan (N-7, Cidco), Tausif Khan Yousif Khan (Rashidpura) and Shaikh Mohamma Amir Mohammad Naimudding (Rehmaniaya Colony). The fifth suspect in the case is at large while the police have launched a massive manhunt for him.

According to the details, Shaikh Mubarak Shaikh Habit Aljabri, a resident of Rehmaniya Colony met suspect Shaikh Irshad through a relative. Irshad was working in the Reliance Company then. He duped complainant Shaikh Mubarak and other seven persons with the false promise to gain the Jio dealership to them. Shaik Mubarak had given Rs 1.10 crores in installments to him. He posed his four friends as the Reliance officers from Pune and Mumbai and met them the victims. He also issued forged letters in the name of Reliance company to the victims informing them that they have been appointed as the Jio dealers. Later, they flee away from the city. As the victims got suspicious, they inquired about it at the Reliance Company. When realized that they have been taken for a ride, a case was lodged a complaint to the commissioner of police. Later, a case was registered on the complaint lodge d by PI, D S Shingare. PSI Deepak Lanke, constable Sunil Phepale, Nitesh Ghodke and others arrested the suspects.
