Man stoned to death in Kham river bed near Barapulla Gate

Aurangabad, May 29:

A man was stoned to death in the bed of Kham river near Barapulla Gate. The incident came to fore on Saturday at around 4 pm. A case has been registered at the Cantonment police station.

The deceased has been identified as Shaikh Majid Shaikh Ali (28, Kotwalpura, Khadkeshwar). He was accused in a kidnapping and murder of a person from Asefia Colony in 2014.

Cantonment police said, Shaikh Majid was a labourer. He is married and has a child. He went out of house on Friday at around 10.30 pm but did not return. The area behind Milind College Stadium is deserted where his body was found in the bed of Kham River. The police on receiving the information rushed to the spot. It was found that his face and head were smashed with stone. He was wearing only a pant and had not shirt on the body. A nearby resident had heard a noise of quarrel from this area but he ignored it.

Meanwhile, DCP Nikesh Khatmode Patil, ACP Vivek Saraf, crime branch PI Avinash Aghav and other officers also visited and inspected the spot. The forensic experts collected some samples here.
