Maratha community can get reservation if MVA supremo decides: MLA Nilangekar

Aurangabad, May 31:

BJP MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar said that if Maha Vikas Aghade (MVA) supremo, means NCP chief Sharad Pawar decides, members of Maratha community would get a reservation.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar alleged that the State Government failed to present the reservation case in Supreme Court properly.

“It is necessary that Marathas community should get a reservation in education and Government jobs. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has taken the reservation issue seriously. There is confusion among the community members who met Governor and submitted a memorandum which is not sufficient. There is a complete process of reservation. The reservation given by BJP State Government sustained in High Court,” he said.

Nilangekar said that the report of Gaikwad Commission was the soul of Maratha reservation but, the discussions on the report was not allowed in SC.

He alleged that Public Works Department minister Ashok Chavan had a responsibility to get justice for the community, however, he did not pay much attention towards.

The BJP MLA said his party would be with those public representatives who support the reservation.

“The community members from Marathwada were much affected after the cancellation of a reservation. There are many problems for students of rural areas to take education. There is fear that they may deprive of education because of poor financial condition. The community members should get free education from KG to postgraduate,” he asserted.

The MLA said that Annasaheb Arthik Vikas Mahamandal was finished and MVA is playing with the community's emotions.

MP Dr Bhagwat Karad, MLA Atul Save, Vijay Autade, Rajgaurav Wankhede, Samir Rajurkar were also present for the briefing.
