Marriages postponed as joining delayed

Aurangabad, Oct 14:

The joining of several candidates from Aurangabad, Nanded and Beed districts in Marathwada region for the post of Talathi has delayed, due to which their marriages of most of them are postponed.

Out of the 49 such candidates from Aurangabad, several have narrated their woes to Lokmat Times. These candidates have cleared the selection process but the government has not given the appointment letters yet and has kept them on hold. Hence, the marriages of most of them have also been kept on hold by the bride side. They have met the employment guarantee and revenue minister, but no one has taken note of their woes.

The government on September 9 sent directives to the divisional administration regarding the recruitment process. However, the implementation has been delayed and the administration has sought guidance from the government again.

In the Aurangabad division, the recruitment of Aurangabad, Nanded and Beed, in Nashik division, Nandurbar and Dhule and in Pune division Solapur and Satara districts have been delayed. In this regard, a petition is sub-judice in the Supreme Court and hence the process has delayed, said the district administration to the candidates. The state government will submit the answer following the petition, the sources informed.

Revenue deputy commissioner Parag Soman said, the government has sent a letter regarding the recruitment in the three districts in the division. Still, guidance has been sought from the government following a petition pending at the Supreme Court. The further decision in this regard will be taken after the directives from the government.
