MESA demands refunding RTE admissions fee

Aurangabad, March 14:

Maharashtra English School Association (MESA) demanded to refund of fees of students admitted on 25 per cent seats reserved under the Right to Education Act in private unaided schools.

A delegation of MESA led by Prahlad Shinde met the primary and secondary education officers and submitted a memorandum.

The association office-bearers held discussions on court judges and the new School Fees Act.

The delegation also made suggestions for amendment in school fees norms.

Education officers informed the delegation that no court has given directives to reduce the fee.

The officers said that the RTE admissions fee would be disbursed within two days after receiving it from the State Government.

The Government is likely to send the fee amount by the current month-end.

MESA vice-president Nagesh Joshi, general secretary Pravin Avhale, district president Ratnakar Phalke, Sunil Magar and others were present.
