MESTA demands resignation of School Education Minister

Aurangabad, July 22:

Maharashtra English School Trustees Association (MESTA) demanded that School Education Minister should resign, taking responsibility for the academic loss of students.

In a press release issued here on Thursday, MESTA founder president Sanjayrao Tayade Patil stated not a single granted or government school conducted online education during the last two years.

“Students have forgotten everything they learnt. Who should be held responsible for this? Education Department has not taken any concrete steps. Except for few English schools, no Government or aided school is holding online education today. The picture in rural is very unfortunate. Even schools were not opened in rural areas. The Education Department officers have no control over schools.

Taking the responsibility of academic loss of students, Education Minister should resign,” he said.

Sanjayrao Tayade Patil said that even after a 25 per cent waiver in fees, parents are ready to pay the remaining 75 pc fees.

“Parents are confused as Government says fees should not be collected forcefully. There are clashes between schools and parents. Education Minister has taken any initiative to resolve the issue,” he added.
