Aurangabad, Feb 27:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) started COVID Care Centre (CCC) at MIT Hostel on Saturday with the rise in COVID patients in the city.

AMC health officer Dr Neeta Padalkar said that they would start CSMSS COVID Care Centre (Nakshetrawadi) from March first.

The number of pandemic patients has risen to 2,000 during the last 13 days. Cases of four to five patients from single-family are being reported. Besides Meltron, COVID Care Centres of Padampura, Khil-e-Ark, MGM Sports Complex were already started.

MIT COVID Care Centre has 275 beds while CSMSS will have 100 beds.

Dr Padalkar said they decided to restart CIPET and other CCCs soon. Many patients are angry over the delay in providing a meal at CCCs while others are refusing to take it. A security guard at Khil-e-Art CCC was beaten up on Friday.

The patients will be allowed to have meal received from home. Dr Padalkar said that the tiffin of the patient would be checked before handing it over to the patient.
