Motorcyclist dies in road accident

Aurangabad, March 12:

In a tragic accident, a motorcyclist died on the spot after a speeding truck laden with steel poles dashed his vehicle, in Pachod, on Thursday evening. The deceased is identified as Gulab Dhandu Rathod (45, resident of Pangara in Ghansawangi tehsil of Jalna district).

According to Pachod police, " " The truck bearing number (MH 16 CD 9558) was transporting steel poles from Raipur-Chattisgarh to Ahmednagar. While it was passing through Pachod on Thursday at 5 pm, it dashed the motorcycle (bearing number MH 21 BE 0844), coming from Paithan, in front of Pawan Kashi Vishweshwar Mandir. The accident was so severe that the rider was tossed in the air and then died on the spot after coming into the truck's tyre. The head also got separated from the body and was thrown across the road.

The onlookers and villagers informed the police about the accident. Acting upon the information, the police team comprising head constables Sudhakar Mohite, Pawan Chavan, Firoz Barde, Jeevan Gudekar and home guard Santosh Bhumre reached the spot. The police performed a 'panchanama' of the accident spot and sent the body to the rural hospital.

Used SIM card to identify the body

The cops were unable to identify the deceased person. The mobile phone also got into pieces in the accident. The head constable Mohite then took out the SIM card from the deceased's damaged mobile, and by inserting it in his mobile, he contacted some of his relatives and then identified the deceased as Gulab Rathod. Pachod police have registered the case of an accident. Further investigation is on.
