MP Fouzia Khan meets Edn minister over recruitment issue

Aurangabad, Oct 22:

Rajya Sabha member Dr Fouzia Khan called on the education minister of Maharashtra Versha Gaikwad in Mumbai on Wednesday urging her to resume a recruitment process of teachers and declare the date of next teachers eligibility test (TET).

It may be noted the then state government in 2017 decided to implement the recruitment process through Pavitra portal in 2017. An advertisement was published then to fill 12,147 posts while only 5,822 candidates were given the appointments.

The recruitment was to begin in March 2020, but the spread of the coronavirus started obstructed it. Therefore, the finance department of the state put a ban on the recruitment as Covid has affected the economic condition of the government.

Minister Versha Gaikwad assured MP Fouzia Khan of taking up the issue with chief minister and his deputy. Meanwhile, Akhil Bhartiya Urdu Shikshak Sangh had submitted a memorandum to Dr Fouzia Khan last week requesting her to raise the recruitment issue with the government.
