Aurangabad, March 31:

The District Collector canceled the scheduled lockdown on the directives of the state government. The AIMIM activists celebrated the decision by taking MP Imtiyaaz Jaleel on the shoulders on Tuesday night, claiming that the administration canceled the lockdown due to the threat of organizing a Morcha. Taking cognizance of this irresponsible incident, the City Chowk police registered a complaint against MP Jaleel and the AIMIM activists including former corporator Naser Siddique, Vikas Edke, Ajju Naikwadi, Aaref Hussain, Abdul Sameer Abdul Sajid, Shareq Nakshbandi, Imran Salar, Isaq Pathan, Akhil Sagar, Mohammad Shoaib and others.

Police said, considering the increasing havoc of the Corona pandemic in the city and the district, the district administration announced a lockdown between March 30 and April 9. MP Jaleel opposed the decision and threatened to organize a morcha if the decision is not withdrawn. Similarly, various social and political organizations also opposed the decision.

When, only two hours before the implementation of the lockdown, the district collector, Sunil Chavan, canceled the decision to impose lockdown on Tuesday night. After the announcement of the decision, hundreds of AIMIM activists gathered in front of the house of MP Jaleel at Hudco, N-12. They started celebrating the cancellation of the lockdown decision and claimed that the administration bowed before the MP. They shouted slogans and took MP Jaleel on the shoulders. The celebration continued for around one and a half hours without any permission and breaching the curfew orders.

After receiving the information, PSI Vijay Pawar and others rushed to the spot and directed the activists to stop the celebration and leave the place. Some activists left the places, but MP Jaleel and some others remained there. PSI Pawar, on behalf of the government, lodged a complaint in this regard and a case has been registered against MP Jaleel and others.
