Aurangabad, June 28:

The expedition launched by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) to administer the Covid-19 vaccine to its employees received an overwhelming response in the state. The power entity succeeded in vaccinating 79.4 percent of employees in the state and vows to vaccinate the remaining 20 percent in the next fortnight.

According to the press release, " There are a total of 75,323 employees in MSEDCL, out of which, 59,799 (including the regular and outsourced employees) had been vaccinated. Meanwhile, 4,058 employees have also taken their second dose of vaccine. Of all the 16 zones, there are three zones in the Marathwada region. Accordingly, the zone-wise vaccination percentage of employees is as follows: Aurangabad Zone - 84.1 pc, Nanded Zone - 80.9 pc and Latur Zone - 65.9 pc."

It may be noted that the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD, MSEDCL), Vijay Singhal has lauded the efforts and instructed the field officers to complete the vaccination of remaining employees on top priority. It may be noted that the CMD had taken initiative by requesting the district collectors to launch a special vaccination drive for MSEDCL employees and personnel in the jurisdiction of each district.

According to MSEDCL sources, the CMD has formed a four-member committee to review the status of employees' vaccination (zone-wise) daily. He had also instructed all the employees (especially field staff) to strictly follow all the rules of the Covid-19 and also take care of their health while rendering services to the consumers, stated the release.
