Nandlal Bhoma dies of cardiac arrest

Aurangabad, July 6:

The founder president of Kumbharwada Vyapari Sanghatna (KVS) and yesteryear's loyal Congress activist Nandlal Champalal Bhoma have died of cardiac arrest today (July 6) morning. He was 64.

The departed soul was popularly known as Nandu Gheewale and his shop was situated opposite Mahesh Bhavan. As a daily routine, he was in the shop and was dealing with customers, when he sustained a heart attack at 10.15 am and collapsed on the spot. The funeral procession will be taken out from his residence in the vicinity of A S Club tomorrow (on July 7) at 9 am, while the last rites will be performed at the crematorium, on Mohtadevi Mandir road, in Bajajnagar. He leaves behind a

family comprising a wife, four sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren.

Bhoma was the founder president of KVS and was also a member of Zilla Vyapari Mahasangh. He had strongly pursued the demand of having a police chowky in the commercial area, for the past 5-7 years. The police chowky at Aurangpura Chowk was established from the discretionary fund of the then education minister Rajendra Darda's elder brother and MP Vijay Darda. It was inaugurated on September 10, 2013. He was a veteran activist of yesteryears Congress. In 1999's

election, he single-handedly and loyally campaigned for Congress in Aurangpura and Gulmandi, the areas which are considered as the bastions of the Shiv Sena. He maintained cordial relations with public representatives of all political parties and utilised it to resolve the city's issue. He would regularly raise the demands relating to pathetic condition of roads, shortage of water, security of business fraternity, etc. to the district collectorate and at various government

platforms. He was also a veteran activist of the Medh Kshatriya Sonar community. He was having immense faith in Jain spiritual leaders and had served many of them wholeheartedly.

Credit of Aurangpura police chowky goes to Nandu Gheewala

He was a loyal activist of Congress and was affectionate of me. The two-storeyed building of police chowky which is existing at Aurangpura Chowk is due to him only. He consistently was after me and pursued the demand for having a police chowky for 5-7 years. I established it using the discretionary fund of the then MP Vijay Darda. He was not a Jain but was very popular in the Jain community. He would take care of Jain spiritual leaders. The Jain community's Paryushan Parv and Ganeshotsav used to be held at one time. Hence there would be a huge rush in front of Mahesh Bhavan. As a result, he would place barricades on the road and control the rush of devotees. We have lost a loyal

activist, a social worker having social consciousness, and a popular person serving the spiritual leaders, said Lokmat's Editor-in-Chief Rajendra Darda.
