No masks or social distancing followed in trains

Aurangabad, March 2:

The number of passengers arriving at the railway station for buying tickets has decreased as people have preferred making an online reservation due to covid. The number of trains has also been increased. However many travellers are not following covid guidelines while travelling by train.

There is a lot of emphasis on travelling by train for long distances. People follow covid norms at the station and entering the train. But after sitting in the coach, many passengers are seen removing the masks. Despite vigilant passengers raising complaints with the railway administration, no action has been taken. Passengers are given access to the coaches as per the reservation by the railway administration. But many passengers seem to have forgotten to use masks and sanitisers. Although vendors carrying water bottles and other food items have been banned in the coaches, passengers are seen turning a blind eye at the precautions.

After testing the passengers at the railway stations by the team of the district administration as well as the corporation, they are released for the next journey by train. But the passengers put their mask on until they get into the coach, and remove the masks once they are inside. No health administration officials or inspection officers were found in the train carriage taking action against the unmasked commuter.

Crowds of passengers have increased

The number of trains has increased after the lockdown. Signs have been put up at several places in the station premises for making the citizens aware of using masks and sanitisers. Action will be taken against passengers removing masks said, railway officials.
