OPD service resumed in DCH after 9 months

Aurangabad, Jan 12:

The Out-Patients Department (OPD) was reopened in District Civil Hospital (DCH) on Tuesday after nine months.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Sundar Kulkarni said that OPD services started from Tuesday and 24 patients were treated on the first day.

The OPD was started in DCH on June 25, 2018. Later, inpatients Department was added to the DCH to reduce the load of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

With the spread of Novel coronavirus, all services at the District Hospital were stopped from March. Only COVID patients were being admitted and treated for nine months.

Since the number of patients in the city has come down, there is no patient undergoing treatment in DCH today. Therefore, the OPD service was resumed. Treatment for general disease started at the hospital. A total of 24 patients took treatment on the first day.

Additional District Civil Surgeon Dr Kamlakar Mudkhedkar inaugurated the OPD services. Doctors, nurses and employees were present.
