Parents worried over SSC students evaluation

Aurangabad, April 22:

The parents of SSC students are worried over the evaluation of their children. It may be noted that the State Government cancelled the examinations of the 10th class because of rising COVID patients.

The students who were in the ninth standard were promoted to 10th standard last year because of the same reason. The SSC is considered a turning point in one’s career. The students would be allotted marks on the basis of internal assessment.

Parents who were stress-free a bit over the cancellation, are somewhat confused about how their children will get marks and what course will be suitable for them.

There are 1032 secondary schools in the district with 70,000 students. However, only 65,011 applied for the examinations. The examinations were cancelled to reduce the threat to the students' life. Parents also fear that their children may experience stress while attempting 12 standard examinations late because of SSC students promotion in the next class. Some parents said that how the international assessment would be done of students is not still clear, while others said it would be difficult to understand the learning level of students without evaluation through the examination.

“Examination helps in finding talented students. A bridge course of two or three months should be conducted so that students can learn whatever they missed because of the pandemic virus,” they added.
