Aurangabad, July 19:

The postgraduate colleges within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University will not get admissions permission for the academic year 2021-22 if they lack approved at least two full-time teachers.

It may be noted that there are many colleges that have not recruited full time approved teachers while they are collecting full fees as per the norms. Teachers in most of the PG colleges are given meagre salaries.

The members of Academic and Management Councils, in their recent meeting, decided not to given permission of admissions to the PG institutes which do not have full time approved minimum teachers.

The university issued a circular a few days ago to college principals stating that all PG colleges must appoint full-time eligible teachers through prescribed recruitment criteria.

It was mentioned in the circular that if the colleges do not fulfil this condition, it would be put no-admission category and would not be able to carry out the admission process for the academic year 2021-22.

The aided and non-aided PG colleges need not Government permission

as they can take permission from the Reservation Cell of Bamu for publishing the advertisement and completing the recruitment process.

The institutes were asked not to admit students above a permissible limit, otherwise, they would be held responsible for the education loss of students.

Vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole said that the decision about the compulsion of teachers recruitment was taken last year but was not implemented due to Covid situation.

“There are many candidates eligible for the recruitment within the jurisdiction of the university. The decision was taken to main academic quality in senior colleges. There would be no compromise in terms of quality,” he added.
