Ph Ds to be conferred on 484 researchers in Convocation ceremony

Aurangabad, June 3:

Vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) Dr Pramod Yeole said that collective efforts would be made to make the online convocation day ceremony memorable one in the backdrop of Covid 19 situation.

He was speaking in a meeting of officers and employees held on Thursday to discuss the preparations for the event. The 61st convocation ceremony will be held on June 25, between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath, registrar Dr Jaishree Suryavanshi, deans Dr Walmik Sarwade, Dr Bhalchandra Waykar and Dr Chetna Sonkamble, Dr Dhanashri Mahajan, director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil were present.

VC Dr Pramod Yeole said that there are directives to conduct the convocation ceremony in all the universities online in the State.

Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Prof Anil D Sahasrabudhe will be the chief guest while Governor and chancellor of the universities Bhagat Singh Koshyari will preside over the ceremony, Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant will be the guest of honour.

Ph D will be awarded online to 484 researchers who have registered up to May 31, that physically. Of the total registered candidates, 216 from Humanities and Social Sciences subjects, 165 from Science and Technology, 58 from Commerce and Management Science, 45 from Interdisciplinary faculty subjects.

A total of 12 committees were set up for the ceremony, which will be conducted in a professional style as per the protocol of Raj Bhavan.
