Plastic scrap godown gutted at Azad Chowk

Aurangabad, July 4:

A godown of the plastic scrap articles at Azad Chowk reduced to ashes after the fire broke on Sunday at around 5.40 pm. Three fire tenders extinguished the fire after the strenuous efforts of around an hour. In the preliminary investigation, it was opined that the godown caught fire due to short circuit.

The godown caught fire and the entire area in the godown was engulfed into the clutches of the fire. The flames were seen from the long distance. The fire fighting squad was informed and initially, the Cidco fire brigade team rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. Later, the Chikalthana and Begumpura fire tenders also rushed to the spot. The three fire tenders extinguished the fire. The case in this regard was not registered at the police station till late evening.

The plastic and other scrap material was completely burnt. However, as the fire brigade was informed immediately due to which the further losses were averted. Fire brigade chief Vijay Rathod, Ramesh Sonawane, Majed Khan and others extinguished the fire.
