Aurangabad, June 5:

A crime branch team arrested a youth, Shaikh Siraj Shaikh Saeed on Saturday and recovered cash, a two-wheeler and nine batteries.

According to details, the crime branch received information that Shaikh Siraj was going to sell a stolen motorcycle.

A team comprising assistant police inspector Manoj Shinde, constable Chandrakant Gavli, Bhagwan Shilote, Suresh Kalwane, Ritesh Jadhav, Vishal Patil, Anand Wahul, Nitin Deshmukh, Mohini Chincholikar laid a trap at Padegaon and arrested the accused.

He confessed to stealing a motorcycle from Deep Apartment of Osmanpura and using it now.

During the further probe, he informed police that he had burgled a garments shop opposite Chikalthana weekly market in October 2020 with the help of his accomplice Sohel. He also committed a theft at Shri Ram Collection in Dwarkesh Complex four days ago. His another accomplice Imran sold the stolen clothes in Mumbai. Police seized Rs 3,000 from Siraj, who received it from Imran as a share. The accused also confessed to committing theft at the dairy at Lotakaranja, stealing motorcycles, one each from Bhavsinghpura and Daultabad, 12 batteries of trucks.

He sold all the batteries to Mazhar Gulab Shaikh from Padegaon.

Police raided the house of Mazhar Gulab and seized nine batteries worth Rs 1.20 lakh. Mazhar was handed over to Cantonment Police Station.
