Policemen save life of auto driver on railway tracks

Aurangabad, April 24 :

Policemen and two youths saved the life of an auto-rickshaw driver who was sitting on railway tracks near Mukundwadi on Saturday afternoon to end his life after a dispute in the family.

According to details, police personal were deployed at Jhenda Chowk in Mukundwadi area for cordoning off day and night on COVID duty.

Police constable Karbhari Dhadbade from Mukundwadi Police Station and traffic constable Sunil Ratnaparkhi, Deochand Brahmanath were carrying out checking of vehicles at 1 pm.

Deepak Waghmare (36, Mukundwadi-Sanjaynagar) sat on railway tracks on Rajnagar after a dispute in the family. Two youths Kailas Baban Hiwale and Chandrakant Sunil Jadhav (9th class students), heard the sound of a train coming to Aurangabad from Jalna. When they saw Deepak sitting on the tracks, they raised the alarm.

Policemen who were around 100 meters away rushed to railway tracks on hearing cries of youths and took Deepak away from the tracks.

Police convinced him about how life is important at a time and doctors are working day and night to save the lives of COVID patients.

Deepak started crying. Engine driver of the railway stopped the train to see a crowd on tracks. Police took Deepak in the tent at the point and allowed the train to pass. Deepak was taken to Mukund Police Station, where he was handed over to his father.
