Public representatives demand installation of CCTV cameras, street lamps in GMCH

All public representatives have instructed the district administration to strengthen security system in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) premises taking seriously the incident of misbehaving with a lady resident doctor by some miscreants at night a few days ago.

They asked the district administration to provide a fund to GMCH from District Planning Committee (DPC) for the installation of close circuit TV cameras and street lights.

These instructions were given in COVID 19 review meeting held with public representatives in the district collector office on Monday. MP Imtiyaz Jaleel, MLAs Haribhau Bagade, Sanjay Shirsath, Pradeep Jaiswal and Atul Save, MLC Ambadas Danve, additional district collector Anant Gavhane,

Superintendent of police Mokshada Patil, GMCH dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, Dr Neeta Padalkar were present.

MP Jaleel said that security measures should be enhanced for the safety of doctors, employees and patients.

MLC Danve demanded police administration should search the culprits and take stringent action against them.

The representatives said that CCTV cameras and street lamps in all places of the GMCH.

“Action should be taken against auto-rickshaw drivers, outsiders who are staying in the GMCH premises unnecessarily,” they said.

They also demanded that the stipend of doctors who on internship should be increased immediately. On this, addition collector said that decision would be taken to increase the stipend.

Deputy commissioner of police Meena Makwana said that with the patrolling of Damini Squad and police personnel, the employees of Maharashtra Security Force.

District collector Sunil Chavan has sought a report from the GMCH about those who are staying illegally in the quarters.
