Pundliknagar police take action against miscreants, addicts

Aurangabad, Feb 6:

The Pundliknagar police took action against the miscreants and addicts standing in front of the beer bars and wine shops on Saturday evening. Many of them fled away from the scene on the advent of the police.

Two days back, a police – residents interactive meeting was held in the presence of commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta. In this meeting, the residents complained to him about the miscreants standing in front of the beer bars and wine shops and teasing the residents and girls. A class eight student had made complaint regarding this to the CP. Dr Gupta assured the residents that there is no need to get afraid and strict action will be taken against the miscreants.

Accordingly, API Ghansham Sonawane, PSI Vikas Khatke, constable Jalimdar Mate, Balaram Chaure, Ajay Kamble and others on Saturday evening went to the Chowk and made the miscreants run away. The police nabbed two of them. Similarly in this police action, a notorious goon Bharat was nabbed by the police. He was banished from the city for two years and he came to the city after completion of the banished period.

Meanwhile, the police also arrested a youth doing stunt on the motorcycle leaving both hands from the handle. The police seized his motorcycle and took him to the police station.

API Sonawane said, the bar, hotel owners have served notices and asked that they should take precaution that the miscreants should not stand in front of the hotel and shops. Action was taken against miscreants at Kargil Garden, BSGM School ground and in front of Chhatrapati College Ground, he said.
