Ranjangaon COVID Care Centre waiting for doctors, nursing staff

Aurangabad, April 27:

The COVID Care Centre (CCC) of Ranjangaon Shenpunji in Waluj Mahanagar is waiting for doctors and nursing staff for the past few weeks.

It may be noted Ranjangaon Gram Panchayat decided to start COVID centre at New Zilla Parisha School to provide treatment to patients in the local area in Waluj industrial estate.

As MLA Prashant Bamb came forward, sarpanch Kantabai Jadhav, deputy sarpanch Shivram Thombre, rural development officer S N Rohkale, ZP member Ushtai Hiwale, Panchayat Smitit member Deepak Bade and others took the responsibility of starting the centre.

The CCC was launched and a team of the health department and panchayat Samit visited the school. The administration too granted permission to use the school building for the centre as there are holidays for the school.

Various facilities like cleaning and colouring of 40 rooms, light fitting, pure drinking water at the cost of Rs 30 lakh, were made available in a week.

The CCC needs 50 health staffers, including four medical officer, nurses, housekeeping employees. The health department is avoiding providing the required staff.

The local people’s representatives alleged that patients have to move to other places for the treatment because of the unavailability of health staff.

When contacted, district health officer Dr Sudhakar Shelke and tehsil medical officer Dr Vivek Bhamble were not available for comment.
