Aurangabad, May 6:

The fair shop owners from the district called off their strike started on May 1 in protest against the distribution of grains through e-machine and their pending demands.

Akhil Maharashtra Rajya Swast Dhanya Dukandar Mahasanngh president D N Patil said that the 1802 ration shop owners postponed their

proposed agitation as the State Government accepted two demands.

The first is an increase in commission and another is Rs 50 lakh insurance cover. He said that the rest of the demands fall within the purview of the district collector. The Government instructed the collector to fulfil the demands.

The agitation was postponed after discussions with all the district presidents of the association taking into a pandemic outbreak.

Common men, specially poor, faced a lot of inconvenience because of the strike. The association members also apologised for the inconvenience to common men during their agitation.

District supply officer Varsha Rani Bhosale issued a letter to association members about accepting their two demands.
