Relatives too facing miseries along with COVID patients

Aurangabad, April 13:

COVID patients relatives who arrived here from other cities and are staying outside the hospitals have to face many problems, including unavailability of shelter to washrooms.

It may be noted that the number of pandemic patients started increasing since March.

After the city, COVID started spreading its tentacles in rural areas. Patients not only from the district but also from other cities are coming here for the treatment.

Two to three relatives accompany the patients. The relatives were not allowed to stay in hospitals with patients. Lodges in the city are closed. So, there is a big question before the relatives, where to stay at night.

Relatives of patients who were admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital stay in a shed installed near the Medicine Department building. They have to sleep in an open space. The situation is not different outside private hospitals.

Many of them have to spend their days and night under trees. Women relatives have to suffer a lot as they have to sleep in open space and had no facility for bathing and washroom.

Since they accompany patients, no local nearer or friend allow them to stay till the treatment.

Doctors and nursing staff take care of patients in hospitals while life for their relatives is painful outside. Close friends and acquaintances are avoiding to make a call to relatives who are with patients.
