RTE fee to be refunded partially today; notice of online MESA agitation taken

Aurangabad, May 6:

Maharashtra English Teachers Association (MESA) claimed that its online agitation for getting tuition fee refund for admissions done under the Right to Education (RTE) Act got successful.

The process of fee disbursement has begun and schools get the fee from May 7.

The Education Department owes Rs 25 crore to English schools of the district. The English schools did not get fee refund since 2018.

The State Government released Rs 5 crore before March 31 for the academic year 2019-20. But, it was not disbursed to the schools yet. The Association staged online agitation to draw the attention of the Government towards pending fee payment.

The Chief executive officer of Zilla Parishad took notice of the agitation and cleared the files of fee refund.

MESA president Prahlad Shinde said that the education officer would partially release the fee amount to the schools by tomorrow evening.
