Some post Corona patients show side effects

Aurangabad, May 9:

The patients suffering from Covid and recovered from Covid are showing some severe side effects due to the use of medicines like steroids and Remdesivir. The side effects are even seen in the patients without co-morbidities and not having any earlier ailments. In a month, around 10 to 12 post Covid patients due to the complications are being admitted in the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The experts have opined that precaution should be taken while administering medicines to the patients.

The body immunity reduces due to the viral infection and the bacterial and other diseases grapple the post Covid patients. The patients are suffering form eye problems and their sight has reduced. Earlier, very few diabetic patients suffered from this disease but now it has increased considerably. The extensive use of steroids is the reason for it, the experts said.

Patients if found such symptoms should immediately contact the doctors, opined GMCH head of Ophthalmology department, Dr Varsha Nandedkar.

Head of the Medicine department, GMCH, Dr Meenakshi Bhattacharya said, many patients do not take the medicines prescribed in the post Covid condition due to which there can be the side effects of the medication. Around 10 to 12 such patients are admitted in the GMCH every month, she said.
