Thousands of non-aided school teachers struggling for survival: Darekar

Aurangabad, July 17:

“Thousands of teachers working in non-aided schools in the State are struggling for survival in Covid situation. The State Government is not paying attention towards teachers condition. Our party will raise the issue with the State Government to provide financial assistance to the teachers,” said Pravin Darekar, leader of the opposition in the State Legislative Council.

He was speaking during an interaction with non-aided schools teachers in Paithan tehsil on Saturday evening. Darekar arrived here today to meet the teachers on learning their condition.

He said that the many schools' management did not pay salaries to teachers since the schools were shut down for the past one and half years.

“Some of the teachers are selling insulation tap while others are doing farming.

He also provided Rs 1 lakh help to each teacher. MLA Atul Save, along with BJP office-bearers, were present.

“Thousands of teachers are unable to run the family in the State. Government should pay attention to their problems. We will take the matter with the Chief Minister,” he said.

The Leader of the opposition in the State Legislative Council said that teachers who nurture upcoming generations, financial problems. He also announced that answer would be sought from the State Government about teachers problems.
