Tourism industry waiting for international arrivals in city

Aurangabad, Feb 6:

A ray of hope emerged amongst the city's tourism professionals after the World Health Organisation (WHO) applauded the implementation of COVID vaccination programme in India. They are now hoping the country will be declared one of the safest places to visit for international tourists.

America and Europe are facing pandemic situations. After re-opening of the heritage sites and places in the country, the domestic tourists spent Christmas vacation and celebrated the New Year with zeal and enthusiasm. The Maldives is also witnessing a huge rush of tourists. The tourism industry is waiting anxiously to end of the long wait and welcome international tourists in the region.

According to a tourism professional Jaswant Singh, " We are receiving many inquiries about the visit to India. However, we are unable to speak as international flights are yet to be started. To accelerate tourism, the majority of tour operators are planning low-budget tours. Meanwhile, tourism professionals are hoping for the support of the government. They are demanding concessions for a couple of years in Visa amount, free tourism from GST etc."
