Traffic measures accepted on permanent basis

Aurangabad, Jan 23:

The city is facing severe traffic problems due to the increasing vehicles on the city roads and narrow roads. The City police had adopted some traffic measures to regulate the city traffic. Especially measures were adopted on the Jalna Road which yielded positive results.

Now, the changes made in the traffic on the Jalna road have been accepted permanently. Accordingly, the signals will be closed between 10 am and 2 pm and from 5 pm to 9 pm daily at Amarpreet Chowk and Akashwani Chowk. Only straight traffic will be allowed during this period on the Jalna Road. Earlier, these traffic reforms were accepted on the experimental basis but it has been made permanent now, informed ACP (traffic) Suresh Wankhede.

The vehicles coming from Kranti Chowk and going towards Mondha Naka, Akashwani, Seven Hills and vice versa will have to go straight.

The vehicles coming from the direction of Kranti Chowk towards Amarpreet Chowk and had to go towards Kalda Corner will have to go straight and take an U-turn under the Mondha Naka flyover.

The vehicles coming from Mondha Naka and have to go towards Banjara Colony will have to go straight towards Kranti Chowk.

Vehicles coming from Seven Hills and want to go towards Maheshnagar will have to go straight towards Mondha Naka and take an U-turn under the flyover.

Vehicles coming from Mondha Naka and want to go towards Trimurti Chowk will have take an U-turn under the Seven Hills flyover.

Similarly, the traffic police will stop the traffic after every three minutes for 15 seconds at Amarpreet Chowk and Akashwani Chowk for the pedestrians to cross the road.

The vehicles breaking this arrangement will be liable for police action under MPA section 131 and other sections, informed ACP Wankhede.
