Twenty-point program for clean city

To make Aurangabad one of the top ten clean cities in the country, administrator Astik Kumar Pandey has decided to implement a 20-point program focusing on cleanliness.

Giving more information about the preparations made by the municipal corporation for the cleanliness survey, Pandey said the administration has prepared a twenty-point program to get maximum marks in the clean survey. Our focus is to generate revenue from the proper utilization of the water coming out of the sewage treatment plant. The first project is being started in Zalta Gram Panchayat as per the water recycling policy. The model of Surat city is being studied. Many citizens throw garbage in the nullah. To stop this, iron bars will be installed on the front side of the nullah. Space will also be made available at various places for collection of e-waste. Fix points will be set up in areas where excess waste is dumped on the road. Fix points will be given for plastic waste collection. Attempts are being made to start small projects at Kanchanwadi, Ramnagar, Central Naka so that dry waste can be processed immediately. The ''I Love Aurangabad'' campaign will also be launched to increase citizen participation in the clean-up drive, Pandey said. In many parts of the city, old construction materials are thrown on the streets. Therefore, a system for disposing of such materials will be set up. A site has also been identified for setting up a construction and demolition waste plant at Ramnagar. Mobile teams will be formed to collect the materials, Pandey said.
