Two head constables in ACB trap

Aurangabad, March 17:

The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) squad has caught red-handed two head constables while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from an accused booked by Cidco MIDC police station in a case of stealing ornaments. The duo demanded a bribe to extend help to the accused in inquiry and granting relaxation from attending the police station.

The name of head constables are Shaikh Afsar Shaikh Ilomoddin (52, Hussain Colony) and Ratnakar Pundalik Borde (50, Mhada Colony-Murtizapur). The accused was not in favour of greasing their palms. As a result, he lodged his complaint with ACB. Shaikh and Borde were caught while accepting the bribe at Naregaon police chowky today morning.

ACB team comprising police inspector Vikas Ghanwat, Milind Ippar, Santosh Joshi and Devisingh Thakur participated in the trap. The case against them has been registered at the Cidco MIDC police station.
