Two killed, 14 hurt in jeep-tempo collision, gruesome accident on Kannad-Pishor road

Aurangabad, Feb 16: Two persons were killed and 14 injured in a gruesome accident involving a jeep and a tempo near Chikalthan diversion on Kannad-Pishor road on Tuesday evening. Eight of the injured are serious and have been shifted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here for treatment. The dead have been identified as Shantaram Santosh Pawar (35, Chincholi) and Gokul Santosh Kakarwal (21, Ganeshpur, Kannad tehsil).

According to details, a marriage party from Ganeshpur was proceeding from Pishor to Kannad in a jeep (MH-16-R-4496) for the nuptials to be solemnised at Khaparkheda. The tempo (MH-10-K-7724) was travelling in the reverse direction. Both the vehicles collided head-on nearly 200 feet away from Chikalthan diversion. Jeep driver Pawar was killed on the spot while Kakarwal succumbed to injuries at the rural hospital. The police team reached the spot and extended help to the injured.

The injured Lakhan Bhagwan Mehar (21), Devsingh Narayan Nimwal (25), Santosh Fakirchand Kholwal (30), Anil Ratansingh Kakarwal (16), Sunil Santosh Kakarwal (15), Raisingh Narayan Nimwal (30), Akshay Nimwal (21, all residents of Ganeshpur) and Subhash Pawar (34, Chincholi) have been shifted to GMCH, Aurangabad. Karan Viju Rajarwal (30), Raju Kholwal (27), Shyamsingh Rajarwal (28), Bahadur Kholwal (30, all Ganeshpur) are being treated at a private hospital while Sanjay Barwal (35) is being treated at the rural hospital.
