Aurangabad, May 24: Two beneficiaries of NGO Udayan Shalini Fellowship (USF) scheme are now successfully working as corona warriors proving the saying that 'educate a girl and she will change the world.'

USF guides young and determined girls and finances their education. Shalinis have not only become a pillar of support for their families, but also stepping up to serve their community.

Durga Pawar, who has completed B Sc Nursing and is now working at the Government Ayurvedic Hospital Nanded (DCHC), believes that fighting back means doing everything possible to provide the best care to the patients. This desire pushes her to work extra shifts; often four nights a week, in 12-hour shifts.

She says, "When I think of my patients, I feel the need to come back to the hospital even when I am tired. Serving the people in distress is equal to serving humanity and serving humanity is worshiping God, who rules over us.”

Mayuri Jadhav did Lab Technician course after her schooling and is now working with CIIGMA, Hospital, Aurangabad.

She says, "The fears continue and are real, especially working on the frontline. Two things minimize my fears: knowing more about the disease and how to care for our patients, and overall, the conviction that I have God's protection for all of us. When my father got Covid, I was able to take care of him only because of my education. We were able to treat him back to health at home itself."
